Tree Plantation Programme Organized at BASU”
Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna in collaboration with The New India Assurance Company Limited organized Tree Planation programme at the premises of Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna on forenoon of 18th September, 2018. The plantation programme was organized on the occasion of 100th year celebration of company. Hob’ble Vice-Chancellor, BASU Dr. Rameshwar Singh along with all the senior officials of the University contributed in tree plantation.
The tree plantation was followed by deliberations on Climate Change at Conference Hall of BVC. At the onset Chief Regional Manager, Sri Anil Kumar Pravin, welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. He informed that The New India Assurance Company is celebrating its 100th Year Celebration since 23rd July, 2017. The company is organizing environment related welfare programmes like tree plantation, water conservation etc. on the occasion.
In the presidential address Vice-Chancellor, BASU Dr. Rameshwar Singh appreciated the Tree Plantation programme of company and assured that the trees will be taken due care to grow fully. In his remarks he was bothered about the increasing carbon footprint in the atmosphere and emphasized that if every citizen of the country will take responsibility to reduce carbon footprint then the problem could be minimized. Further he stressed that we should increase the productivity of animal rather than increasing number of animals. He placed example of high efficient breeds of buffaloes of CIRB, Hissar.
Deliberations were presented by Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar Kapoor, DRI-Cum-Dean PGS, Dr. Hari Mohan Saxena, DSW Dr. Raman Trivedi, Dean BVC, Dr. S. Samantaray, Dean SGIDT, Dr. M. N. Singh.
At this occasion all the senior officials of University, Faculty, Staff and Students of BVC and SGIDT, were present. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Sri Dileep Kumar, Regional Manager of The New India Assurance Company.
